“Faith without works is dead” (James 2:17)
Presenter: Deacon Peter Presdee
The truth of this statement will be traced in the “work” of three extraordinary women: Mary McKillop, Edith Stein and Eileen O’Connor.
Their faith worked itself out in love (Gal. 5:6) and challenges us to take up Pope Francis’ call to evangelize through works of mercy. We will ponder how their lives shared many similarities and yet each was unique in how they lived out their response to their divine calling. An in-depth look at their faith journeys will aim to display an intimate relationship of each with the Father, with a particular emphasis on the virtue of hope. Finally retreatants will be invited to journey within themselves and with the help of the inspiration of these charismatic women reflect on how God is calling them to “work” for Him in the world.
